If you haven’t read my bio yet, I’m a photographer. I get so much joy out of taking pictures and spending hours editing on my computer. Now I know you are probably picturing my house looking like a gallery with gorgeous shrine walls to my kids. If only that were true! Sadly, I have very few pictures on the wall. I keep meaning to order prints and canvasses but never get around to it. Lame excuse, I know.
When You Frame sent me a do it yourself Canvas Photo Wrap kit I was thrilled! In a manner of minutes you can print, frame, and hang your beautiful image on canvas. Raise your hand if you love instant gratification!!!
The kit comes with three 8.5”x 11” white canvas printing sheets, three frames for mounting, three table top stands, and 1 roll of acid free canvas bonding tape. The instructions are short and very clear. If you should get confused or want to see all of the steps before you do it they have a wonderful video on their website.
It’s pretty simple really. Just load the white canvas texture photo sheets into your inkjet printer (NOT a laser printer), select the 8.5”x11” borderless paper size with highest print quality and watch your gorgeous canvas pop out in minutes.
The canvas has a right and a wrong side. The wrong side says “DO NOT print on this side” so you don’t have to guess which is the correct side. I strongly suggest running a test sheet first on regular paper just to be sure you know which side your printer pulls from. I marked an X on my test page just to be sure.
I had a problem when I printed my first one because I didn’t make sure that the correct image quality was selected. There is a HUGE difference between regular printing and the best quality printing in your printer’s advanced setup menu. I wish that the kit had come with an extra page for mistakes such as mine. When printing your canvas just do one sheet at a time. Your canvas photo will come out dry and ready to be placed on the frame.
Then refer to the large diagram on the instruction sheet to place tape on the frame. To apply on the frame you simply peel off the tape backing from the frame, center your canvas photo underneath and press firmly to adhere. To make the pretty corners you’ll need a box knife or scissors to cut on the diagonal, fold to the inside, and then snap the edges of the frame in place. Then use the handy table top stands or hang on a wall and stand back to admire your canvas printing skills you didn’t know you had.
Overall I’m impressed with the look of this product. The canvass texture looks beautiful and I’m pleased to say that it did my photo justice. It was easy to do and the canvases themselves are a great gift idea with a touch of homemade to make it more personal. I even think that the kit would make a great gift for a wedding or that hard to shop for person on your gift list. Thanks to You Frame I know what my photo loving Mother in Law will be getting for Mother’s Day.

I like that they are water resistant so you can hang them in the kitchen and/or bathroom. I also like that the finish is made to be dust resistant. Wonderful!
